 Session Breakdown

  • Session 1 – The Mindful Photographer
Learn how to turn your photography practice into a tool for well-being. In this session, we’ll explore contemplative photography as a path to presence, joy, and inner resilience. You’ll receive exercises to help you slow down, notice more, and use your camera as a lens for well-being.

Mindfulness invites us to pause, breathe, and inhabit the present with deeper connection. It’s not about changing our reality, but about transforming the way we experience it.

    • Your first one-on-one mentor session is a chance to get acquainted with your camera or smartphone, clarify your technical needs, and share your creative goals for the series so we can tailor the experience to support your growth.

  • This month we’ll each choose a theme and begin building a small portfolio around it. We’ll explore how focus can sharpen your creative voice, strengthen your storytelling, and help your subject shine. Learn about curation, sequencing, and editing for emotional impact.

    • Hone your focus: What story are you telling?

    • Learn how to build a cohesive and compelling body of work.

  • Inspired by Maya Angelou’s reminder — “This is a wonderful day. I’ve never seen this one before” — we’ll turn our attention to the overlooked beauty all around us. Whether it’s a texture in your home, a neighborhood detail, or a glimpse of the changing landscape, we’ll celebrate the magic in the ordinary.

  • Our final gathering is a celebration of your journey. Each participant will present a small body of work and receive constructive feedback and support. This is a chance to reflect on your growth, honor your creative voice, and share your vision with a supportive community.
