Session Breakdown

Building Your Creative Workflow and Practice (August 14 – 9am PT)
Every great body of work begins with a thoughtful workflow. Learn how to organize your growing photo library in Lightroom, use keywords and collections, and prepare files for printing, websites, or Call for Entries. We’ll also introduce the idea of photographing ideas instead of subjects—using your camera to explore feelings, concepts, and stories rather than simply documenting what you see.AUGUST MENTOR SESSION (30 min)
Bring your questions, recent photographs, and challenges. We’ll review your progress, troubleshoot Lightroom or editing questions, discuss your creative assignment, and help you refine your project before the next month’s class. -
Photographing with Purpose (September 11 – 9am PT)
The strongest bodies of work begin with curiosity. We’ll explore ways to move beyond random photographs by choosing a theme that excites you and creating images that belong together. You’ll leave with a list of inspiring project ideas and begin photographing with greater intention throughout the month.SEPTEMBER MENTOR SESSION (60 min)
Bring your questions, recent photographs, and challenges. We’ll review your progress, troubleshoot Lightroom or editing questions, discuss your creative assignment, and help you refine your project before the next month’s class. -
Photographing Change & Transition (October 16 – 9am PT)
Nature is our greatest teacher of change. As autumn unfolds, you’ll learn to recognize and photograph moments of transition—from shifting light and vibrant foliage to subtle signs of letting go—creating images that reflect both the changing landscape and your own evolving vision. -
Portfolio Review & Artist Conversation (November 3 – 10am PT)
Each participant will submit photographs for a final review. Together we’ll discuss editing choices, sequencing, printing considerations, preparing work for exhibitions and galleries, and ways to continue growing your creative practice. We’ll also celebrate recent accomplishments and explore the work of an inspiring photographer whose vision can spark new ideas.
